Grand Canyon University Scholarship Foundation  

The Grand Canyon University Scholarship Foundation is an independent non-profit 501 (c) (3) public charity whose mission is to provide scholarships to students attending the ground campus of Grand Canyon University in a traditional full-time status.

Applications

Grand Canyon University Foundation Scholarship

To qualify, students must meet application requirements.
Scholarship amount varies. Scholarships will be awarded for the 2017/2018 academic year.

Students Inspiring Students Scholarship 
A Neighborhood Scholarship

To qualify, high school seniors must meet application requirements:
High school senior admissible** to GCU.
Attending one of GCU’s neighborhood, participant schools.
Student must complete a minimum of 100 hours of study time at the GCU Learning Lounge prior to the application deadline.
Demonstrate a financial need.***

* This Grand Canyon University Scholarship Foundation (GCUSF) scholarship package is offered in conjunction with Grand Canyon University (GCU). Each organization will pay up to one-half of the award, with the award intended to cover only tuition ($16,500 per academic year) and applicable enrollment and program fees (approximately $1,000 value depending on program of study), not to exceed $18,000. Tuition and fees will be covered by a combination of aid such as scholarships and grants from federal, state, private and institutional sources. The scholarship package cannot be applied toward parking, health insurance, housing or meal plan rates and is not transferable, nor does it hold any cash value. This scholarship package is renewable for up to three years for eligible students who make timely application for renewal and meet all renewal requirements, including having a minimum cumulative GCU GPA of 3.0. To remain eligible, a student must be continuously enrolled full-time in the Fall/Spring semester and be in good academic standing. Full-time enrollment constitutes enrollment in 12 credits or more, 8 of which must be on the “Ground Campus.
” Both GCUSF and GCU reserve the right to decline to award a scholarship for any reason. If a student does not meet the minimum renewal criteria, a scholarship will not be renewed. GCUSF and GCU each reserve the right to change scholarship award and/or renewal criteria at any time without prior notice.
** Admissibility Requirements: 3.0 unweighted GPA, 19 ACT, or 920 SAT (includes math and reading scores only)
*** Financial need is determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Students must apply for the FAFSA. If eligible, PELL Grant, along with all other gift aid, including federal and state grants and loans, as well as private scholarships, are subtracted from student’s tuition and fees unless they are being used for costs not covered in the scholarship program such as housing and meal plans. The remaining cost of tuition and fees up to a maximum of $18,000 will be covered by this scholarship package.

To qualify, students must be Theatre and Drama or Theatre Education majors.
Student must maintain a 3.0 GPA to qualify for subsequent awards.
Scholarship amount varies. Scholarships will be awarded for the 2017/2018 academic year.

To qualify, students with a declared major who will be a Sophomore, junior or at 1st semester Senior during the year the scholarship is awarded.
Major must be in the College of Business (Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, etc.)
Students must maintain a 3.0 minimum overall GPA and a 3.25 minimum major GPA
Scholarship amount is one $1000 scholarship per calendar year.  Scholarships will be awarded for the 2017/2018 academic year.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preference will be given to students that hold leadership positions, are involved in extracurricular activities, and participate in community service.

To qualify, students meet application requirements.
Student must maintain a 2.75 or above GPA and be a freshman applying for their sophomore, junior or senior year of study.

Tim Browning Memorial Scholarship

In Honor of Tim Browning

This scholarship is for undergraduate students who have a lost one or both parents. Tim Browning spent most of this professional career in secondary education and came from a family of teachers. He devoted many years to assisting students receive a higher education and in his honor, his family would like to continue this assistance.

The loss of a parent can create much adversity and suffering in a young person’s life. This scholarship helps hard working and deserving students to triumph over loss by giving hope for their future and some relief from financial hardship.

Award amount ranges from $500 – $1000 annually based on available funding.

Eligibility

  • Must be enrolled full-time
  • Must have a minimum incoming or continuing GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Proof of loss in the form of a copy of the death certificate
  • Write a 1-2 page essay describing how the loss of a parent impacted their life and their career aspirations
  • In cases where more than one student applies, the equal consideration will be given to essays, financial need, GPA, and extracurricular activities.

Alex Acosta Scholarship Memorial Scholarship

Arvizu Scholarship

To qualify, students must be of Latino heritage and have a 3.0 GPA.
A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded for the 2017/2018 academic year.

Evan C. Gary Memorial Scholarship

To qualify, student must be Engineering, Science, or Pre-Med majors.
Student must have been home-schooled for a minimum of their high school years.
Student must maintain a 3.5 GPA to qualify for subsequent awards.
Scholarship amount is $1,000.  Scholarships will be awarded for the 2017/2018 academic year.
Student must upload on the application two letters of recommendation from non-family members who have known the student for at least three years. One must be a letter from a pastor or staff member at the student’s home church.
